What is glass fusing? Glass Fusing is NOT glassblowing and is not hot.
Glass Fusing is a process where individual pieces of layered glass are fused (a fancy term for melting) with heat in a kiln.
What does a fusing workshop look like? You will work at a table beside old friends and new with open studio time for up to 2 hours. All tools and glass materials are included in the cost, with optional add-ons available.
Step 1- Starting with a clear flat tile, decide what you want to create. You can choose something recognizable, like a flower or landscape, a geometric pattern or a random design! Your piece won’t be perfect, but it will be uniquely yours.
Step 2- Choose glass pieces of different shapes, sizes and colors. We will instruct you on cutting, layering, breaking, or snapping them into your desired shape and placing them on your tile to create your design.
Step 3- We will then fire your tile in a kiln for 15+ hours. Your project will require multiple trips in the kiln if you choose a bowl-shape. Pick up your project 1 week later or have it shipped! Workshops cost $65 and include: -a 6x6” or two 4x4 flat tile -all glass and use of tools needed to complete your tile -up to 2 hours of studio time
